India defeated Australia by 20 runs in the 4th T20I in Raipur to seal the series 3-1.

With a convincing win over Australia at Captain Roop Singh Stadium in Raipur, the India have secured the five-match T20I series. The hosts are 3-1 up against Australia after the 4th game. Australia fell short by 20 runs chasing 175 and couldn’t carry on their momentum from the previous game played at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. Along with the series win, the hosts have also secured a record-breaking win against Australia in Raipur.

India are now number one in terms of most wins in T20I format. This was India’s 136th win in the shortest format of the game going past neighbours Pakistan. India equaled Pakistan’s 135th win number in Thiruvananthapuram but Maxwell’s innings prevented the hosts in Guwahati to overtake Pakistan. India are also the top-ranked side in the ICC T20I rankings and their good run of form makes them dominate the format.

India, Pak, NZ only thee side to win more than 100 T20Is

India, Pakistan, and New Zealand are the only three sides in the T20I format to win more than 100 T20I games. India are number one with 136 victories in 213 T20I games, Pakistan are second with 135 wins in 226 games, while New Zealand won 102 T20I games out of the 200 they have played so far. Australia and South Africa are 5 wins away from completing 100 victories in the format.

India also lead the chart in most number of wins playing at home. They have been a dominant team in this format while playing bilateral events and won 53 out of 82 T20I games at home. New Zealand are second on this list with 44 wins in 83 T20I games at home. Out of 136 wins, 83 have come playing overseas for India. They are also the inaugural winners of the T20 World Cup. MS Dhoni-led team won the T20 World Cup in 2007.

In Raipur, India posted a total of 174 runs on the board. After a magnificent opening partnership from Ruturaj Gaikwad (32) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (37), the middle order collapsed. Rinku Singh (46) came out as a crisis manager for the team and took to a decent total. Axar Patel (3/16) and Ravi Bishnoi (1/17) bowled magnificent spells to win the game and also seal the five-match T20I series 3-1 against Australia.
