India will take on South Africa in match No. 37 of ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 at Eden Gardens on Sunday.

Team India have been superb so far in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. They are the only team that has not lost a single game in the tournament and became the first team to qualify for the semi-finals. But their next game is expected to be the hardest of the lot. India will lock horns with South Africa.

That match will take place on Sunday at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. South Africa are the other team that have been incredible and have thrashed every opposition that they have played against. So it is expected to be a mouth-watering contest. Here we will talk about the predicted playing XI for India against South Africa on Sunday.

IND vs SA: India's Predicted playing XI vs South Africa

Rohit Sharma missed the last game and got out on the second ball. But he will look to deliver a match-winning knock against South Africa. He will look to give the team a good start and provide a good position for the other batters to go hard. Rohit has so far scored 402 runs at a strike rate of 119.64 with one century and two half-centuries.

2. Shubman Gill :

Shubman Gill got back into his form and looked good in the last game against Sri Lanka. He scored 92 runs but missed his hundred. That knock will give him a lot of confidence, and he will look like a totally different player. Gill is the leading run-scorer in 2023 and will be a big wicket for India at the top of the order.

3. Virat Kohli :

Virat Kohli is the backbone of the Indian middle-order. Whether it is a chase or setting a target, if Virat stays on the crease, he will take the game away from the opposition. He has been in brilliant form. Virat has scored 442 runs at an average and strike rate of 88.40 and 89.47, with one hundred and four half-centuries.

4. Shreyas Iyer :

Shreyas Iyer's position was under scanner, but the way he looked at Wankhede showed why India trust him a lot. He hit the longest six of the tournament so far. He was excellent and scored a quick 82 with six sixes. That knock would have given him some confidence, and he will come hard against South Africa.

5. KL Rahul (Wk) :

KL Rahul has been a vital cog in the Indian middle-order. He has been among the runs in this tournament. Rahul has scored 237 runs at an average of 79 runs with three half-centuries. In terms of quick wickets, Rahul is a perfect player in the middle-order, and India depends on him a lot.

6. Suryakumar Yadav :

Suryakumar Yadav will get another chance as Hardik Pandya has been ruled out, and it is time now to show what he has got. South African pacers will not be too hard, but if anyone from India can do that, it is SKY for sure. He will look to unleash his T20 skills and show that he belongs to this stage.

7. Ravindra Jadeja :

Ravindra Jadeja will have a big role against South Africa because Proteas have the best run rate during the middle overs. If Jadeja can restrict the batters with the ball, then South Africa will be under pressure and can lose wickets. Jadeja has taken 9 wickets at an economy rate of 3.78 so far.

8. Mohammed Shami :

Mohammed Shami has been at his absolute best at the moment. He has played only three games and taken 14 wickets, which is a record in the World Cup. Shami is bowling like a dream, and it will be very hard to get over him for the opposition. If he can continue his rhythm, South Africa might face their second loss of the tournament.

9. Jaspirt Bumrah :

Indian bowling attack is currently the best in the tournament, and Jasprit Bumrah is the leader of the pack. He will be the biggest threat for South Africa. His ten overs will be very hard to face with new and old balls. Bumrah has taken 15 wickets at an exceptional economy rate of 3.72.

10. Kuldeep Yadav :

The biggest test for Kuldeep Yadav will be against South Africa because they are attacking the spinners during the middle overs. But he has taken wickets under pressure, which is why India have been successful. Kuldeep has ten wickets at an economy rate of 4.40, and if he can stick to his variations, South African batters will have a hard time.

11. Mohammed Siraj :

Mohammed Siraj was under pressure before the last game, but then he was exceptional against Sri Lanka. He took 3/16 and was moving the ball both ways. Siraj will be expected to do something similar in Kolkata because his strength has been with swing and pace, and he will get some help at Eden Gardens.
