India have won just two games at The Oval in test cricket.
The Indian Cricket Team will be heading to The Oval in London for the last game of the five-match series against the England Cricket Team. The series-decider match between the two teams is all set to commence on 31st July (Thursday).
India have shown an incredible fight in the ongoing series. However, it has come down to the one final showdown and with the series on the line, it will be a must-win game for them. A loss here would mean that they would face a 3-1 thrashing as England are already 2-1 ahead.
India started the series with a poor five-wicket loss in Leeds. But then made a solid comeback in the second match in Birmingham, winning by 336 runs. In the third test at Lord’s, they fought till the end but lost the game by just 22 runs.
Then, in the fourth game in Manchester, they were dominated by England on the first four days. However, they came up with a solid batting in the last five sessions and drew the game out of nowhere, making sure that they go into the Oval test with the series still alive.
What is India’s record at the Oval in test cricket?

The Oval isn’t a happy hunting ground for India in the tests. They have a poor record at the venue as they have managed just two wins out of the 15 games that they have played here. Also, they have suffered six losses here as well, while seven games ended in a draw.
Their first win at the venue came in 1971, while the second one came in 2021. The last match they played against England here ended in a win for them. Hence, they would be keen to carry on that and level the series.
