India's tour of Australia 2025
IND vs AUS: Ravi Ashwin picks 3 wickets in 7 balls to put Australia in trouble

Ravi Ashwin outclassed Australian top-order with his off-spin bowling.
Team India are on the verge of winning the ongoing 3-match ODI series against Australia. Australia are struggling to find their feet against Indian team at Holkar Stadium in Indore. Australian batters are under the pressure of a big target, as India have 400 runs to chase. The target was reduced to 317 in 33 overs due to a rain interruption. Wet weather changed the conditions completely to give Indian spinners more assistance than in the first innings. Ravichandran Ashwin used these conditions well and picked up three wickets in just seven balls. Ashwin’s spell put India on the verge of victory.

Marnus Labuschagne and David Warner were going strong, and they started to look threatening. When Ashwin came on, Australian batters decided to take on the off-spinner and go offensive against him. Labuschagne was trying to play a reverse sweep against off-spinner, but he was completely deceived by the turn. He became the first victim of Ravichandran Ashwin. Australia lost their third wicket in a 90-runs score in 13 overs. In the next over, Australia again got 10 runs. David Warner tried to bat as a right-hander to negate Ashwin’s impact against a left-hand batter. But he couldn’t last for long.
Ashwin in the next over trapped David Warner plumb in front when he wanted to try a reverse sweep against the off-spinner. Ashwin bowled a straighter one, but Warner was completely out of place while playing the shot. This also became a controversial point in the game, as the replays suggested that David Warner had a faint bottom edge. Warner had the chance to review that decision, but he just walked after having a brief chat with Josh Inglis. Just after the three balls, Ashwin once again showed his abilities and trapped Josh Inglis. Inglis was also trying to sweep Ashwin but failed, just like Labuschagne and Warner.
Along with Ravichandran Ashwin, left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja also picked up two wickets. Jadeja castled Alex Carey and Adam Zampa to put India in command. Team India needs a series win to keep their number one position in the ICC ranking intact. After winning the first ODI game at PCA Stadium in Mohali, Team India became number one in all three formats of the game. Indian batters had a memorable day at Holkar Stadium. Shreyas Iyer (105), Shubman Gill (104), Suryakumar Yadav (72), and KL Rahul (52) contributed immensely to India's total of 399 runs.
