New venue for India vs Pakistan!
Earlier, ICC was planning to set up a venue in Bronx, but due to objections from residents in that locality and also one of the cricket leagues that is based out of the same park, ICC changed the original plan and decided on East Meadow’s Eisenhower Park. They were planning to build the facility at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx. The newly chosen Eisenhower Park is spread over around 930 acres, and the location is feasible to host a big cricket clash between two archrivals, India and Pakistan.
Cricket is making headway in United States of America. Major League Cricket was a huge success for people looking to make cricket popular in the country. There is a huge population of sub-continent migrants in US, which makes cricket a growing business in the country. Major League Cricket attracted a lot of crowds, not only from the sub-continent but also from the other diaspora. New cricket centres have also been built in the country to attract more big matches.
The upcoming T20 World Cup in US will also pave the way for more infrastructure and more funds. MLC will be an annually hosted league, and Indian franchises investing in the tournament will open a lot of opportunities for cricket in USA. ICC T20 World Cup 2024 will be played in June. The tournament will commence on June 4, and the finals will be played on June 30. 20 teams will be taking part in the competition. 12 participants participated in the previous event played in Australia.
