Two games will be played during the India vs South Africa test series 2025.
Indian Cricket Team are all set to square off with South Africa Cricket Team in a two-match test series at home. The first game will commence on November 14 (Friday) at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata, while the second test will be played at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati from November 22 to 26.
The test series will be followed by three ODIs and five T20Is. India have made only two changes to their squad from the West Indies test series. With the return of vice-captain Rishabh Pant, N Jagadeesan has been dropped as the secondary wicket-keeper. Moreover, pacer Akash Deep has been picked over Prasidh Krishna.
Notably, this will be India’s third series in the ongoing ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 cycle. In the previous test series against the West Indies, Shubman Gill & Co. clinched a 2-0 clean sweep. Earlier in August, their five-match series against England ended in a 2-2 draw. With a win percentage (PCT) of 61.90, India grab the third spot in ICC WTC 2025-27 points table.

Talking about South Africa, they will be led by Temba Buvuma, who has made a comeback after missing their last test series against Pakistan. Due to a calf strain, the right-handed batter was ruled out of the series, with Aiden Markram leading the side in his absence.
The Proteas have named three spinners in their squad, with Keshav Maharaj leading the team’s spin attack. Spinner Prenelan Subrayen, who was part of the Pakistan tour, has been dropped from the squad for the India tests. South Africa’s maiden campaign in ICC WTC 2025-27 against Pakistan ended in a 1-1 draw. With a win percentage of 50.0, they clinch the fifth spot in the WTC points table.
South Africa are the defending champions of the ICC WTC and will have a big challenge against hosts India, who are widely known to dominate at home soil.
