List of whitewashes India have suffered at home in test cricket

India have so far suffered three whitewashes at home in test cricket.

India is considered the toughest place to win a test series for any visiting team. There are not many teams who have won test series on Indian soil. India played their first ever test in June 1932, and since then, they have played ample of home test series and have a good record at home.

That is why whitewashing India in their own backyard is considered one of the rarest achievements for any test side. Even West Indies in the 1970s and 1980s and Australia at their prime couldn’t do it.

So far, not many teams have been successful at whitewashing India in their own conditions. But there have been a few instances when India have suffered this humiliation at home. All those home series whitewashes for India in the test will be covered here below.

The second test saw a clear hammering from South Africa led by Hansie Cronje. South Africa scored 479 runs and bowled India out for 152 and 250 runs to record a win by an innings and 71 runs to complete a 2-0 series whitewash.
