A total of four Indian batsmen have scored over 1000 runs in the history of ICC Cricket World Cup.
Team India have been one of three teams to win the ICC Cricket World Cup multiple times. The first time they did it under the captaincy of Kapil Dev was in 1983, and then MS Dhoni repeated it in 2011. 4. Rohit Sharma:

Rohit Sharma is the fourth Indian batter with more than 1000 runs in World Cup history. He reached this milestone during the 2023 Cricket World Cup match against Afghanistan in India in his 20th innings. Rohit has scored six hundreds and three half-centuries in the World Cup, and if he scores one more hundred, he will break Sachin Tendulkar's record for most World Cup centuries.
3. Sourav Ganguly - 1006 runs:

Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly was one of the most prolific run scorers for India in the white-ball format and played a number of match-winning innings at the top of the order. The left-hander also led India to the final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2003 in South Africa. Ganguly played in three World Cup editions (1999 to 2007) and featured in 21 innings. He scored 1006 runs at an average of 55.88 and scored four hundreds and three half-centuries. His career-best score of 183 runs also came in the World Cup game.
2. Virat Kohli - 1115 runs:

Virat Kohli loves to perform on the big stage, and he is the second-highest scorer for India in ICC Cricket World Cup history. Virat has now played four World Cups and scored a hundred in his World Cup debut game in 2011 against Bangladesh. He has played 27 innings and scored 1115 runs at an average of 48.47, with a best of 107 against Pakistan in 2015. Virat has also scored two hundreds and seven half-centuries in this period.
1. Sachin Tendulkar - 2278 runs:

There are a few records in World Cup history that are impossible to break. One of those records is the most runs held by Sachin Tendulkar in history. Sachin has scored 500 more runs than the second-ranked batter in history. Sachin made his debut in the 1992 World Cup and played until 2011. He played 44 innings and scored 2278 runs at an average of 56.95, with a best of 152. He also scored six hundreds and 15 half-centuries, which are also the most by any batter.
