Three Indian batsmen have hit double centuries in tests against England in England.

The Indian Cricket Team and the England Cricket Team are among the oldest test-playing nations in international cricket. Their test rivalry dates back to the year 1932, when India toured England for the first time in a one-off test match at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London.

Since then, both the teams have faced each other in 136 tests, out of which, England won 51 matches whereas India registered victories in 35 games. 50 matches ended in a draw.

However, India’s winning record drastically drops when considering away test matches against England. India have faced England in 67 matches on the latter’s home, winning just nine games and losing 36 encounters. 22 clashes ended in a draw.

Over the years, Indian batsmen have faced huge challenges on England grounds where pitches offer seam-friendly and swinging conditions. However, a few Indian batsmen overcame these challenges in the past and came out with impeccable knocks on English soil.
