List of all test centuries scored by Indian batsmen at the Lord's

A total of 10 Indian batsmen have hit test centuries at the Lord’s.
Regarded as the Home of Cricket, Lord’s is a popular cricket stadium in England. The Indian Cricket Team faced the England Cricket Team for the first time in a test match at the Lord’s in 1932. Over the years, both teams have played 19 tests at the venue.
Out of these, India won three games while England clinched victory in 12 encounters. Four games ended in a draw. India captured their first victory against England at the Lord’s in 1986. Later, they replicated the achievement in 2014 and 2021.
In the past, a few Indian batsmen grabbed the limelight at the stadium with their batting performances. Over the years, only 10 Indian batsmen have scored centuries at the Lord’s. Moreover, one Indian player accounts for three centuries at the venue. On that note, below is the list of all test centuries scored by Indian batsmen at the Lord’s.

1. Vinoo Mankad – 184 (1952)
Vinoo Mankad was the first Indian batsman to score a century at the Lord’s, which came in 1952. India were bowled out for just 235 in the first innings and England replied with 537/10. Later, Mankad slammed 184 runs in the second innings to take the scoreboard to 378/10. However, India lost the match by eight wickets as England chased the 77-run target with ease.
2. Dilip Vengsarkar- 103 (1979)
Former Indian cricketer Dilip Vengsarkar scored 103 runs at the Lord’s during a clash against England in 1979. Notably, the right-handed batsman got out for a duck in the first innings but later made a fabulous comeback with a century in the second innings. The encounter eventually ended in a draw.
3. Gundappa Viswanath – 113 (1979)
In the same test in 1979, Gundappa Viswanath also scored a century in the second innings. Viswanath scored 113 runs and played a crucial role in supporting Vengasarkar while batting. India were bowled out for just 95 in the first innings, however, they gave a better show in the second innings with dual centuries by Vengsarkar and Viswanath, ending with 318/4.
4. Dilip Vengsarkar – 157 (1982)
In 1982, Vengsarkar became the first Indian batsman to score two centuries at the Lord’s. During the opening test of the series, Vengsarkar slammed 157 runs with 21 fours in the second innings after the team was enforced follow-on. However, his marvellous knock went in vain as India lost the encounter by seven wickets in the end.
5. Dilip Vengsarkar – 126* (1986)
In 1986, Vengsarkar replicated his heroics at the Lord’s and slammed another century. England posted 294/10 in the first innings. With Vengsarkar’s unbeaten 126 runs, India piled up 341 runs. Later, England were bowled out for 180 and India chased down the 134-run target by five wickets. This was India’s first victory at the Lord’s.
6. Ravi Shastri – 100 (1990)
Ravi Shastri is another Indian batsman to score a test ton at the Lord’s. In the first test during India’s tour of England 1990, the hosts posted a gigantic total of 653/4 (d) in the first innings. For India, opener Shastri scored 100 runs in the first innings. However, England eventually won the encounter by 247 runs.
7. Mohammed Azharuddin – 121 (1990)
During the Lord’s test in 1990, Indian skipper Mohammed Azharuddin also scored a century in the first innings. Azharuddin scored a quickfire 121 runs off 111 deliveries. With Shastri and Azharuddin’s tons, India piled up 454 runs in the first innings. However, their knocks went in vain as India failed to chase down the 472-run target in the second innings, losing the match by 247 runs.
8. Sourav Ganguly – 131 (1996)

Sourav Ganguly made his test cricket debut at the Lord’s in 1996 and smashed a hundred in the encounter to begin his legendary career. In the first innings, Jack Russell, with his innings of 124 runs, powered England to 344/10. With Ganguly’s 131-run knock, India piled up 429/10 in the first innings. The match ended in a draw, with England declaring at 278/9 on day five.
9. Ajit Agarkar – 109* (2002)

Surprisingly, former India pacer Ajit Agarkar is also part of this elite list. During India’s tour of England in 2002, Agarkar slammed an unbeaten 109-run knock at the Lord’s. In the first innings, England piled up 487/10, while India were bowled out for just 221. In the second innings, England declared their batting at 301/6, setting a 568-run target for India. With his century, Agarkar powered India to 397 runs; however, they lost the match by 170 runs.
10. Rahul Dravid – 103* (2011)

During India’s tour of England in 2011, Rahul Dravid hit a ton in the first test of the series played at the Lord’s. After England scored 474/8d in the first innings, India managed to respond with only 286 runs. Dravid was the only visiting batter in the innings to score 50+ and finished with 103 unbeaten carrying the bat. Later England scored 269/6 in the second innings before declaring their innings and setting India a target of 458 runs. India managed to score 261 and lost the game by 196 runs.
11. Ajinkya Rahane – 103 (2014)

Ajinkya Rahane helped India win their second test at the Lord’s with his century in 2014. With Rahane’s 103 runs in the first innings, India posted 295/10. Later, England were bowled out for 319 runs.
With good teamwork in batting, India piled up 342/10 in the second innings, setting a 319-run target for England. Bowling out England for 223 in the second innings, India won the match by 95 runs.
12. KL Rahul – 129 (2021)

India won their third test at the Lord’s in 2021, this time under Virat Kohli’s captaincy. Opener KL Rahul played a crucial role in the match, scoring 129 runs in the first innings to power India to 364/10. Later, the visitors set a 272-run target for the hosts in the second innings and bowled them out for just 120 runs with a dominant pace attack. Rahul was awarded Player of the Match for his crucial knock in the first innings.
13. KL Rahul – 100* (2025)
After scoring an impressive hundred in the 2021 tour, KL Rahul returned with another ton in India’s very next match at the venue in 2025.
During third test of the series in 2025, KL Rahul hit a sensational hundred in the first innings. He took 176 balls to complete his ton and became second Indian after Dilip Vengsarkar to hit multiple test hundreds at the Home of Cricket.
