Rohit Sharma recently became the latest entrant in the list of India batters to have attained the No. 1 spot in men’s ICC ODI rankings.
The Indian Cricket Team have been blessed with some of the quality batters in ODI cricket. Over the years, we have seen various stalwarts playing for the side in the format and taking the national side to great heights.
The likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, MS Dhoni, Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Rahul Dravid and many others have been magical with the bat in 50-over cricket. However, only a few of them have aced the ICC ODI rankings.
Recently, Rohit Sharma became the No. 1-ranked batter in the men’s ICC ODI rankings. He achieved the feat at 38 years, becoming the oldest batter to reach the top ranking. The batter got to the top after his heroics with the bat in the recent ODI series against Australia.
Rohit Sharma top-scored in the series with 202 runs, having slammed a fifty and a hundred in the last two games. He also silenced all his critics with the bat as many were raising calls for his retirement in the format.

With Rohit Sharma becoming the top-ranked ICC batter in the ODIs, he joined the likes of greats in Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni to have attained the No. 1 spot in men’s ICC ODI batting rankings.
Overall, five Indian batters have attained the No. 1 spot in men’s ICC ODI rankings with Rohit Sharma becoming the latest entrant. The former Indian skipper would be hoping to retain the spot for long and help his team win crucial games.
