Only two Indian bowlers have picked up more than 50 wickets against Pakistan in ODI cricket.

5. Irfan Pathan – 34 wickets
Irfan Pathan took 34 wickets in 23 matches against Pakistan in his ODI career at an average of 34 and an economy of 5.37.
Pathan, however, never took an ODI five-for against Pakistan. The most incredible moment of Irfan’s career came against Pakistan in test cricket when he took a hat-trick in the first over of the Karachi Test in 2006.
4. Kapil Dev – 42 wickets
Known for his impeccable line and length, Kapil Dev boasts an impressive record in ODIs against Pakistan: 42 wickets in 32 ODIs at a bowling average of 26.5 and an economy rate of 4.21.
Kapil’s best performance against Pakistan came in ODIs in 1985 in Sharjah, where he claimed bowling figures of 3/17 to help India seal a win by 38 runs.
3. Venkatesh Prasad – 43 wickets
Karnataka pacer Venkatesh Prasad was known for his enviable ability to seam the ball both ways. Prasad took 43 wickets in 29 innings at a bowling average of 28.9 against Pakistan in his ODI career. This tally included one five-for and one four-for.
Venkatesh Prasad was involved in one of the most memorable moments in the India-Pakistan rivalry when he bowled Pakistan batsman Aamir Sohail after conceding a boundary on the previous ball in the 1996 World Cup. The heated exchange between them is part of the Indo-Pak rivalry.
2. Javagal Srinath – 54 wickets
Javagal Srinath’s emergence marked a remarkable chapter in the India’s fast bowling history.
The Karnataka pacer is the joint-highest wicket-taker for India against Pakistan in ODI cricket, with 54 wickets in 36 matches at an average of 30.68.
His best bowling performance against Pakistan came in Brisbane in 2000, where he took 4/49.
1. Anil Kumble – 54 wickets
Anil Kumble holds the record with Srinath for the joint-most wickets for India against Pakistan in ODI cricket. Kumble took 54 ODI wickets against Pakistan at an average of 24.25.
His impressive tally includes three four-wicket hauls. His best bowling figures of 4/12 against Pakistan came in 1998 in India’s 55-run win in Toronto.
