Indian cricket fraternity shared tweets to support Indian Forces on X.

Amid the ongoing military tensions between India and Pakistan in the aftermath of Operation Sindoor, the Indian cricket fraternity showered praise on the Indian Armed Forces on social media. Active Indian cricketers, former players, and Indian commentators shared tweets on the micro-blogging platform X (formerly Twitter) to hail the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force.

Notably, on April 22, a Pakistan-based terrorist group attacked civilians in the Kashmir valley. A group of terrorists opened fire at tourists Pahalgam. The terror attack, in which 26 people lost their lives, shook the entire nation. Later, the Indian Armed Forces launched Operation Sindoor to attack the terrorist camps inside Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir (PoJK).

However, the move has escalated the military tensions between India and Pakistan in the northwest regions. Even Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 has been affected by it. On Thursday, May 8, the Punjab Kings (PBKS) vs Delhi Capitals (DC) clash in Dharamsala was stopped midway due to security issues. IPL 2025 has also been suspended for a week.

Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, among other players hail Indian Armed Forces on X

After Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) suspended IPL 2025 on Friday morning (May 9) due to security reasons, many players part of the IPL 2025 took to X to laud the Indian Armed Forces. Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya, and Axar Patel shared tweets on their official X accounts.

“With every passing moment, with every decision taken I feel extremely proud of our Indian Army, Indian Airforce & Indian Navy. Our warriors are standing tall for our nation’s pride. It’s important for every Indian to be responsible and refrain from spreading or believing any fake news. Stay safe, everyone!,” tweeted Sharma, who recently announced his retirement from tests. Below are some of the tweets.

Additionally, cricketer-turned-commentators like Shikhar Dhawan, Virender Sehwag and Aakash Chopra also posted on X to support the Indian Forces in their step to fight terrorism. Below are their tweets.

Meanwhile, BCCI has postponed IPL 2025 and will take a call on the rescheduling of the remainder of the tournament in the coming days. A total of 58 games have been completed out of 74 so far, including the abandoned PBKS vs DC clash in Dharamsala. Hence, 16 more games are left in the league.

Gujarat Titans (GT) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) grab the top two spots in the points table with 16 points each. Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Rajasthan Royals (RR), and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have been eliminated from the playoffs’ race.
