India will begin their campaign on September 10, when they the UAE. The Men in Blue are placed in Group A with arch-rivals Pakistan, Oman, and the UAE.
There might be a few surprises for the fans, and some players might be making their comeback. Suryakumar Yadav and his co. will be firm favourites to win the title. On that note, let’s take a look at Indian Cricket Team’s probable squad for Asia Cup 2025.
India’s probable 15-member squad for the Asia Cup 2025
1. Abhishek Sharma

Abhishek Sharma slammed a 37-ball century in the last T20I he played. He has become India’s first-choice opener in T20Is. His aggressive approach and fearless attitude are perfectly suited for the way India want to play. Asia Cup 2025 will be a big platform for him to cement his place for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
2. Sanju Samson (Wk)

After so many ups and downs, Sanju Samson seems to have settled down in the Indian squad. He has been given a long run in T20Is, and he has responded pretty well. India need a wicket-keeper as Rishabh Pant might not make it to Asia Cup 2025 due to foot injury. That is where Samson ticks all the boxes. His form as an opener is also pretty good.
3. Suryakumar Yadav (C)

The big news for the Indian fans is that captain Suryakumar Yadav is fit and will be leading the side in Asia Cup 2025. Suryakumar is a vital cog of the Indian T20I side, and his presence in the middle gives India much-needed experience and consistency. He will be looking to add a title to his name as India’s captain in the tournament.
4. Tilak Varma

Many questioned the place of Tilak Varma when he was added to the T20I side. But, the youngster has made a great impression and has made the No. 3 spot his own. He has shown great maturity and has delivered consistent performances, including two consecutive T20I centuries. He is expected to be seen batting in the top order for India in Asia Cup 2025.
5. Rinku Singh

Rinku Singh is India’s designated finisher in the shortest format. The left-hander has played some really good game-changing innings to make his way into the Indian side. Though he didn’t have a great IPL 2025, he is expected to be picked for Asia Cup 2025. Secondly, his connection with Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir is also strong, and he has done enough good work for Team India to get the chance.
6. Shivam Dube

India’s mantra of having 3-4 multi-dimensional cricketers in the team has worked very well. That is where Shivam Dube also comes in. He is very destructive against spin, which will be required when India play on the slow pitches in the UAE. He is also very handy with the ball and can prove to be vital for team in the tournament.
7. Hardik Pandya

India’s MVP in white-ball cricket, Hardik Pandya, will be among the first few names on the sheet of the squad for Asia Cup 2025. The senior all-rounder is India’s biggest asset, and his improved fitness gives more balance to the team. He is winning matches with bat and ball, which will be needed by India in the coming tournament.
8. Nitish Kumar Reddy

India are investing a lot in Nitish Kumar Reddy because of his potential. The all-rounder has also responded well and done well in the limited chances he has had so far. Though he was ruled out of the England series due to injury, he is expected to recover soon. His presence, along with Hardik, will give India an option to go with an extra bowler to batter.
9. Axar Patel

Axar Patel’s growth as a trusted white-ball specialist has taken giant strides in the last couple of years. His exploits in ICC T20 World Cup 2024 and ICC Champions Trophy 2025 helped India win two ICC titles in the span of one year. He is a street-smart cricketer who is equally good with bat and ball. The pitches in the UAE will also suit his style of play.
10. Washington Sundar

Ravindra Jadeja’s T20I retirement has opened the gates for Washington Sundar to feature in the Indian T20I squad. Sundar has shown great promise in the chances he has gotten across formats. His current form and all-around ability are the major reasons that he will be among the players selected for Asia Cup 2025.
11. Varun Chakravarthy

Varun Chakravarthy has now become India’s leading spinner in T20I cricket. Since his comeback to the team, he has taken the most T20I wickets for India. He will be very dangerous on the pitches in the UAE. His mystery spin helped India win ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in the UAE, and he will be expected to play the same role in Asia Cup 2025 as well.
12. Kuldeep Yadav

There is very high chance that India will go with a spin-heavy attack, which will surely feature Kuldeep Yadav. He is among the best white-ball spinners at the moment. His wrist spin and ability to pick up wickets on any surface make him an important weapon in India’s arsenal for Asia Cup 2025.
13. Arshdeep Singh

India’s leading wicket-taker in T20Is, Arshdeep Singh, has become the leader of the Indian bowling attack in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah. Arshdeep is in great form, and his ability to take wickets and contain batters with the new as well as the old ball makes him a versatile bowler. After his success in ICC T20 World Cup 2024, he has become an automatic choice in India’s T20I squad.
14. Jasprit Bumrah

There might be many discussions on whether Jasprit Bumrah plays in the tournament or not. But it is a short tournament, where India can play a maximum of seven games if they qualify for the final in a span of 20 days. Bumrah was rested from the final test against England, and now India have a break of more than a month. This is enough for him to get fresh and join the team.
15. Jitesh Sharma (wk)

The biggest headache will be picking the back-up wicket-keeping option. Samson, with his form, looks a definite choice to keep wickets, but the team needs a back-up wicket-keeper and Jitesh Sharma is expected to get a nod ahead. After what he did for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, batting lower down the order, he is expected to get picked for Asia Cup 2025.
