The Indian team was traveling to Barbados from Trinidad and Tobago.

Indian Cricket Team had an easy time against the West Indies in the red-ball format and won the test series by 1-0. The second test at Queens Park Oval ended in a draw after persistent rain on day 5 at Port of Spain. India found it easier on the ground than out of it.

Indian team members faced a tough time traveling to Barbados from Trinidad and Tobago. Top Cricketers have also complained to the Board after their flight got delayed 4 hours from the scheduled time. The second test ended on day 5 leaving team India only 2 days to rest and practice for the first ODI scheduled on 27th July at Kensington Oval in Barbados. Flight Delay left the Indian team sleep deprived and with tired bodies going ahead in the 3-match ODI series.

Team India’s flight was scheduled to depart from Trinidad and Tobago at 11 PM to  Bridgetown Barbados. According to a media report Team India’s delayed flight departed from Trinidad at 3 AM in the early morning. This was the last thing players would have expected after waiting a long day for action at the Queens Park Oval in the 2nd test match. A BCCI source said, “They had left the hotel around 8:40 PM for the airport and had to wait for a long time at the airport. The team management requested us to book a morning flight instead of late-night flights as players want some rest post-game. The BCCI has agreed to it and is planning to revise the next schedule”.

Team India will be skipping one day of practice sessions in Barbados before the ODI series begins on the 27th of July. A total of 11 members from the 16-member test squad are part of India’s ODI team as well. Captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, Mohammed Siraj, Ravindra Jadeja, Jaydev Unadkat, Mukesh Kumar, Ishan Kishan, Shardul Thakur, Axar Patel are part of the Indian ODI squad.

The rest of the squad members have already reached Barbados. Kensington Oval will host the first two ODIs of the Three match series. Both teams will be traveling back to Trinidad for the final ODI.
