Indian Cricket Team support staff enjoyed a trek on their off-day.

India head coach Rahul Dravid and support staff enjoyed some trekking in Dharamshala as men in blue enjoyed a couple of days off after defeating New Zealand on Sunday. India have won all their five matches of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 and only need to win a couple more encounters to qualify for the semi-finals.

Dravid took advantage of a rare seven-day break before the tournament's second league stage match in Lucknow to lead India's support staff on a trip and soak in the beauty of Dhauladhar mountains. The coach said he missed Indian squad members, who are currently scattered around the country with their families.

BCCI shared a small video of Dravid, batting coach Vikram Rathour, and others climbing up the mountain and then posing together for the camera while sitting on a rock upon reaching the top.

Dravid was heard saying in the video posted by BCCI,

"Superb view coming up to Triund. Just getting here, you are going up the mountain, climbing. It's a challenging trek, I must admit. Once you come here, the views are breathtaking and spectacular. It's incredible for the support staff to be able to come here. It was a great day out as well.

Unfortunately, I can't bring the boys up here; it's a bit risky walking on those stones. "But hopefully, one day when they are not playing (any tournament), I would love for some of the boys to come here and experience this."

I would love my children to do this one day,' says Rahul Dravid

BCCI had not allowed the players to come on this trek. Batting coach Rathour was also mesmerised by the views en-route to the "little hard" trek and upon reaching Triund.

He said,We are at Triund. Started in a place called Galu. It's beyond McLeod Ganj. When you are climbing up, the last half-hour trek is a little hard, but the moment it opens up, everything is worth it.”

Talking about preserving such naturally beautiful places, Dravid added: "There are so many places that are so rich in nature and diversity, places that we can explore, that are still so beautiful and untouched. I hope that we keep it that way and pass it on to the next generation for them to enjoy and come and have these walks. I would love my children to do this one day."

India have won all five of their matches so far and currently leads the points table. Wins in the remaining four matches will guarantee them a spot in the semi-finals. On Sunday, October 29, India will meet England in Lucknow.
