Top 3 Indian batsmen who can break Sahibzada Farhan's record for most runs in T20 World Cup 2026

Sahibzada Farhan is the leading run-scorer in T20 World Cup 2026 with 383 runs.

Although the Pakistan Cricket Team gave a disappointing performance in T20 World Cup 2026, their opener Sahibzada Farhan was a standout player to watch. The right-handed batsman ended the campaign with 383 runs in six innings at an average of 76.60.

At a stunning strike rate of 160.25, he hammered two centuries and two fifties in the tournament. Farhan dominated the list of leading run-scorers for a long time. He also broke Virat Kohli’s record for most runs in a single edition of T20 World Cup and became the first-ever batter to smash two centuries in one edition.

Since Pakistan’s stint has ended ahead of the semi-finals, a few other batters can overtake his tally. On that note, below are three Indian batsmen who can break Sahibzada Farhan’s record for most runs in T20 World Cup 2026.

Indian opener Sanju Samson scored a match-winning 97* in the must-win clash against the West Indies in the previous game, leading the team to victory by five wickets. Samson was neglected at the start but due to India’s batting woes, he was included as an opener in the Super 8 round. Featuring in three games, Samson has piled up 143 runs at a strike rate of 195.89.

He needs 241 more runs to surpass Farhan’s tally. If Samson scores two centuries in the upcoming games, he can surpass Farhan. Although it seems a difficult, it should be considered that Samson has scored three centuries in the shortest format.
