Adelaide Strikers will defend their title in the Women’s Big Bash League 2024-25.

The tenth edition of Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) 2024-25 started on October 27 (Sunday). The ongoing edition has come with some new faces and it is expected to be another hit among the women’s cricket.

This league will see top players across the world who will show off their skills at the platform. The two-time champions Adelaide Strikers will defend their title and look to make a hat trick.

It was India’s Deepti Sharma, who hit the winning runs for them in the final of the last season. There are multiple Indian women cricketers taking part in the coming season as well. Here we will talk about all Indian women’s cricketers to take part in the WBBL 2024-25.

Six Indian women’s cricketers participating in Women’s Big Bash League 2024-25

1. Smriti Mandhana – Adelaide Strikers

Indian star opener Smriti Mandhana will be making her comeback in the WBBL 2024-25 since the seventh season. She will be representing the defending champion Adelaide Strikers. Mandhana is one of four overseas players for the Strikers. She has played 38 games in her WBBL career and scored 784 with one century and four half-centuries.

2. Jemimah Rodrigues – Brisbane Heat

Indian middle-order batter Jemimah Rodrigues will be playing her third WBBL season. She has played for both the Melbourne franchises and now will be representing Brisbane Heat in the WBBL 2024-25. She will be one of the middle-order specialists for the Heat and will try to take the franchise to their third title.

3. Shikha Pandey – Brisbane Heat

The two-time champions Brisbane Heat have also signed veteran Indian all-rounder Shikha Pandey for the WBBL 2024-25. This is her maiden appearance in the tournament. She will be adding her all-round skills and will be a key player. Shikha has already made an impact with her debut performance of 2/14 and impressed everyone.

4. Yastika Bhatia – Melbourne Stars

Young Indian wicket-keeper Yastika Bhatia will also be making her debut in the WBBL 2024-25. She is signed by the Melbourne Stars and will be joining the team after India’s ODI series against New Zealand’s women. Yastika comes with the skillset of explosive batting at the top order and also can be used as a floater. She played an important role in MI’s maiden Women’s Premier League (WPL) title win in 2022 and can be a game-changer.

5. Deepti Sharma – Melbourne Stars

No. 3 ranked bowler and No. 4 ranked all-rounder in WT20Is, Deepti Sharma is one of the most impactful performers in the current India’s women’s team. She has been winning games with bat and ball for India consistently. She was the one that hit the winning runs for the Strikers last season. Now, she will add her match-winning ability within the Stars.

6. Dayalan Hemalatha – Perth Scorchers

Veteran Indian top-order batter Dayalan Hemalatha will also be making her debut in the WBBL 2024-25. She will play for the Perth Scorchers. Hemalatha has been in and out of the Indian women’s side, which is largely because having many options. But, she has done well whenever given a chance. Dayalan is a powerful striker of the ball and can hit big sixes.
