IPL 2023 Updated points table, Orange cap & Purple cap after Match 48 between RR & GT

Gujarat Titans are at the top of the IPL 2023 points table with 14 points in 10 games.

Table toppers Gujarat Titans have registered a dominating win over Rajasthan Royals at Sawai Mansingh stadium. Titans have defeated Rajasthan Royals by 9 wickets. Titans bowlers had a dominating run against Royals' batters. Rashid Khan (3 wickets), Josh Little (1 wicket), and Noor Ahmed (2 wickets) bundled out Rajasthan on just 118 runs. Sanju Samson top-scored for Royals with 30 runs. Apart from him, no other Royals batter could stay on the wicket for long. Titans comfortably chased down 119 runs in just 13.5 overs. Wriddhiman Saha (41) and Hardik Pandya (39) remained not out and added unbeaten 48 runs. Shubhman Gill scored 36 runs in 35 balls and became a victim of Chahal’s leg spin.

Along with Gujarat Titans, Lucknow Super Giants, Chennai Super Kings, Rajasthan Royals are the top 4 teams ahead in the playoff race. Delhi Capitals are at the bottom with only 6 points in 9 games.

IPL 2023 Updated Orange Cap:

Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Faf du Plessis is leading the Orange cap race with 466 runs in 9 innings. Yashasvi Jaiswal had an opportunity to get back the orange cap but confusion in the wicket with captain Sanju Samson sent him back into the dugout on just 14 runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal is 2nd on the list with 442 runs in 10 innings. Chennai’s Devon Conway is 3rd in this race with 414 runs. Gujarat Titans opener Shubhman Gill is 4th with 375 runs. Gill scored 36 runs in 35 balls. Virat Kohli is 5th in the race with 364 runs.

IPL 2023 Updated Purple Cap:

There was a race between Mohammed Shami and Rashid Khan for Purple Cap. Rashid Khan with his 3-wicket spell against Rajasthan first overtook Mohammed Shami, later Shami picked up a wicket at the end of the innings and won back his purple cap. Shami and Rashid both have 18 wickets in 10 games. Shami, with a better economy is number one in the race and Rashid Khan is 2nd in the race. Chennai’s Tushar Deshpande is 3rd on the list with 17 wickets, and Punjab’s Arsheep Singh is 4th on the list with 16 wickets. Mumbai’s Piyush Chawla is 5th in the top wicket takers table with 15 wickets.

What's in IPL on Saturday?

On Saturday, it’s a double header week in the IPL 2023. In the afternoon game, the two most successful teams in the Indian Premier League, MI and CSK will take on each other. 5-time Champion Mumbai Indians will be traveling down south in Chennai to clash with 4-time IPL champions Chennai Super Kings. Mumbai Indians with two consecutive 200-plus run chase running high on confidence will give fans a mouthwatering clash against CSK. Later in the night, Delhi Capitals will play against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium. This game is an important one for RCB for their chances in the playoffs. Currently, they are placed 5th in the table with 10 points and one loss could impact their campaign in the IPL 2023.
