IPL 2023 Updated points table, Orange cap & Purple cap after Match 7 between DC & GT

Gujarat Titans become table-toppers following their win over Delhi Capitals in the 7th match of IPL 2023.

Once again David Miller proved his worth in the IPL. His finishing has earned Gujarat Titans an important two points against Delhi Capitals. Delhi Capitals after a poor start struggled to provide Gujarat a total beyond their reach. Axar Patel’s late finishing helped them end up at 162. Axar scored 36 runs in 22 balls. Anrich Nortje in the power play tried his best to give Delhi a chance in defending their modest total at the Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium, but Titans' Sai Sudarshan and David Milled shattered his dream. Sai Sudarshan scored a half century. Playing in the absence of Kane Williamson at No. 3, Sudarshan scored unbeaten 62 runs in 48 balls. Miller with his 2 fours and 2 sixes in his innings, won the game for the Titans.

The 5th Day of the Indian Premier League has ended. Defending Champions Gujarat Titans continued with their good run in IPL. Since 2022, the Titans have been a dominating side in the league. Two back to back wins have positioned them at the Number one position in the Indian Premier League 2023 table. Titans won their opening game against Chennai Super Kings in Ahmedabad. Titans defeated Delhi Capitals by 6 wickets. With 4 points in 2 games Gujarat from the 4th position have jumped to Number One. Delhi Capitals after two back to back defeats are at number 8. Rajasthan with a better NRR will have an opportunity to take back their Poll position on Wednesday against Punjab Kings.

IPL 2023 Updated Orange cap holder:

Yellow Army’s Ruturaj Gaikwad had a wonderful IPL 2023 so far. Gaikwad has scored two back to back fifties as Chennai Super Kings opener. He played 92 runs inning against Gujarat and scored 57 runs against Lucknow in CSK’s homecoming at Chepauk. With these two innings, he is leading the chart of Orange Cap with 149 runs in 2 innings. Lucknow’s Kyle Mayers has also grabbed the opportunity he got with both hands. Mayers in two innings has scored two quick half-centuries. Mayers with 126 runs in 2 innings is at number 2 chasing Ruturaj Gaikwad. Mayers has batted with a strike rate of 210. David Warner with his 37 against GT, climbed up to 3rd position in the list of batsmen with most runs in IPL 2023.

IPL 2023 Updated Purple cap holder:

English pacer Mark Wood with his magnificent spell of 5 for 14 against Delhi Capitals has earned the purple cap in IPL 2023. Wood picked up 5 wickets against Delhi and 3 wickets against Lucknow. With these two spells, he is leading the chart of Purple Cap this season. Wood is terrifying opposition with his pace and bounce. Wood’s action and efforts have made batters struggle against his pace. Rashid overtook Lucknow’s Ravi Bishnoi and placed himself at second position in Purple Cap list. Khan and Bishnoi both share the same number of wickets (5), but Khan with a slightly better average than Bishnoi is at second.

What's in IPL on Wednesday?

On Wednesday night, Guwahati will host its first ever Indian Premier League game. Rajasthan Royals has chosen Guwahati’s Barsapara Stadium as their second home venue along with Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Rajasthan Royals will be hosting Punjab Kings. Both teams won their opening encounters. These two are the hot favorite team to lift the IPL 2023 title.
