IPL 2024 auction will see all teams having a purse of 100 crores.

The much-anticipated Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 auction is set to create history as it ventures beyond the borders of India for the very first time. IPL 2024 auction will be held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, marking a significant departure from the regular tradition. This exciting development was officially announced, and fans are eagerly waiting for the event, scheduled for December 19, 2023.

Indian Premier League is a celebratory event that has gained immense popularity over the years, both in India and globally. While the league's primary matches typically take place in various Indian cities, the auction has always been a notable event, allowing franchises to assemble their squads. However, this time around, the backdrop shifts to Dubai, adding a twist to the proceedings.

IPL 2024 auction venue confirmed

The decision to move IPL 2024 auction to Dubai is a result of various factors, including the ongoing global situation and logistics. In addition to the change in location, the salary purse for each IPL team in 2024 has also been increased to a substantial Rs 100 crore, representing a noteworthy rise of Rs 5 crore from the previous year's IPL 2023 players' auction.

Romario Shepherd has been transferred from Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) to Mumbai Indians (MI). Shepherd, who has previously represented LSG and Sunrisers Hyderabad in four IPL matches, was traded for a fee of INR 50 lakh.

Notable transfers are already making headlines, with Australian pace sensation Mitchell Starc making a comeback in IPL.

Retention date extended:

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has also communicated to the IPL franchises on Friday, that the deadline for the release of the list of retained players has been extended to 26th November. Which was previously on 15th November.
