MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will enter the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) as the defending champions and they will play their opening match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on March 22 in Chennai.

The first phase of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season schedule has been officially announced by the Board of Council for Cricket in India (BCCI). A total of 21 matches have been announced by the apex council. It is to be noted that the IPL 2024 schedule has been announced till April 7.

In the IPL 2023 season, MS Dhoni-led CSK defeated Gujarat Titans (GT) in the final held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. 42-year-old Dhoni, who was seen having trouble with his left knee, won a record-equaling fifth title for CSK in IPL history.

This performance translated to 17 points and a net run rate of 0.652. MS Dhoni-led CSK defeated Gujarat Titans (GT) in the final held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
