Mumbai Indians (MI) will play their first match of IPL 2024 against Gujarat Titans (GT).
The five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) will start their Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) campaign against last year’s runners-up Gujarat Titans (GT) on March 24, Sunday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Mumbai Indians were involved in a pre-season player trade where they onboarded former Gujarat Titans skipper Hardik Pandya. Soon after Hardik’s arrival, he took over the captaincy from Rohit Sharma, who led MI to a record five IPL title wins during his leadership.
Mumbai Indians paid Rs. 15 crore to GT to bring back Hardik along with an undisclosed transfer fee. However, they let-go of Cameron Green to balance their purse and make the process of onboarding their all-rounder Hardik Pandya smoother.
The first phase of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season schedule has been officially announced by the Board of Council for Cricket in India (BCCI). A total of 21 matches have been announced by the apex council. It is to be noted that the IPL 2024 schedule has been announced till April 7.
Mumbai Indians finished fourth in IPL 2023
The Mumbai Indians endured a challenging IPL 2023 season, finishing the tournament in fourth place. After playing 14 matches, they managed eight wins, facing six losses. This resulted in a total of 16 points and a negative net run rate of -0.044.
They then defeated Lucknow Super Giants in the Eliminator, before losing to Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 2 to conclude their season.

The first three matches of MI are scheduled to commence at 7:30 PM. However, the fourth match of Mumbai Indians will start on 3:30 pm.
