IPL 2024: NZ, SA, WI players available for full season, AUS, ENG, SL, BAN players partially available

IPL 2024 might start from third week of March.
Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has started preparing for the upcoming IPL 2024 season. The next Indian Premier League season will likely commence in late March and the finals will be played in the last week of May. IPL 2023 was also played in the same window. IPL 2023 began on 31st March and the final was played on 29th May at Narendra Modi International Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad.
BCCI has decided the official window for the upcoming IPL 2024 season will be from 22 March to the end of May. BCCI will be waiting for Election Commission of India’s announcement of 18th Lok Sabha Election dates, following which the schedule of IPL 2024 will be announced. The polling for General Elections 2024 is likely to start in the last week of March and the results will be announced in May 2024.
According to a few media reports, few cricket boards have given clarity on their players’ participation in the league. Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, Afghanistan, and West Indies cricket board have made their players available for the full season. While England, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh boards have given conditional approval. Earlier Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) refused to give NOC to their players.
Josh Hazlewood not available for first half of IPL 2024
Australian pace bowler Josh Hazlewood will not be available for most of the IPL 2024 season and will participate in the league only from the first week of May. Till this time half of IPL 2024 season will be done and dusted. Cricket Australia has assured that apart from Josh Hazlewood and players who will take part in the Sheffield Shield final, will be participating in the entire IPL 2024. England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has allowed players apart from those who are in international duties.
Indian Premier League auction 2024 will be taking place in Dubai on Tuesday, 19th December, 2023. This is the first time in the history of an IPL auction, a foreign venue has been chosen. IPL 2023 auction took place in Kochi. A total of 333 players are selected to go under the hammer in IPL 2024 auction. Before the auction, IPL’s governing council had decided to increase the purse to 100 Crore INR and the mini-auction will witness some expensive signings in the league.
