Arun Jaitley Stadium is the home ground of Delhi Capitals in IPL 2025.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) suspended Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Friday, May 9, with immediate effect due to security issues. BCCI will take a call later about the rescheduling of the remaining games of the tournament. Surprisingly, the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi received a bomb threat on Friday.

Arun Jaitley Stadium is the home ground of Delhi Capitals (DC) in IPL 2025. Axar Patel is the skipper of the side in the tournament. The stadium also witnessed four games in the tournament. The last match hosted at the venue was 48th match of IPL 2025 on April 29 between DC and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

Arun Jaitley Stadium receives hoax bomb threat via email

On Friday, May 9, the DC’s home venue received a bomb threat through an email. According to PTI reports, the Delhi and District Association (DDCA) received a bomb threat mail on their official email address. Later, they reported the matter to the Delhi Police, who sent a bomb squad to the venue. The bomb squad checked the entire stadium and didn’t find anything.

However, now it has been clarified that it was just a hoax and it wasn’t a serious threat.

After the event, the Delhi Police have beefed up security inside and outside the stadium. Also, security has been beefed up in the national capital. Notably, the Arun Jaitley Stadium was scheduled to host the 62nd match of IPL 2025 on Sunday, May 11. DC were expected to clash with Gujarat Titans (GT) on Sunday.

Since the BCCI has suspended the tournament, all the remaining games will take place later. BCCI will update the new venues and schedule of the remaining games in the forthcoming days. On Friday, May 8, DC’s away game against Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium in Dharamsala was stopped midway due to technical and security issues.

The match was later abandoned and is expected to take place once again after BCCI releases the updated schedule for the remainder of the tournament. So far, a total of 57 games have been completed in IPL 2025.
