The venue of MI vs LSG, match No. 45 of IPL 2025, is Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Mumbai Indians (MI) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are locking horns in the match No. 45 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The venue of the match is Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Hardik Pandya is the skipper of MI in the encounter while Rishabh Pant is the captain of LSG. Pant won the toss and opted to bowl first in the match. Notably, MI have won their last four games by decent margins and look quite stronger in the tournament.
However, one thing has confused fans, the mention of ‘ESA Day,’ which is being observed by the hosts.
What is ‘ESA Day’ by MI in IPL 2025
Notably, MI observe ‘ESA Day’ in one match during every edition of the IPL. The ESA means Education and Sports for All. It is a collaboration of MI and Reliance Foundation. During the ESA Day in the tournament, the franchise invites thousands of students from various NGOs to watch the match and cheer for their favourite players. They aim to provide education and happiness to poor students through this initiative. Every year, MI celebrate the ESA Day in one of their home games.
Meanwhile, the home side has made a few changes in their playing XI. They have replaced Mitchell Santner with Karn Sharma. Corbin Bosch has also been added to the playing XI for the match and makes his debut for MI. Vignesh Puthur has been rested for the game. On the other hand, the Super Giants have inducted pacer Mayank Yadav and rested Shardul Thakur.
Meanwhile, MI take the fifth spot in IPL 2025 points table with 10 points. They have won five games and lost four out of nine matches. On the other hand, LSG follow MI in the sixth spot in the points table. They have also played five games; winning five and losing four. They have 10 points.
Hence, the winner of the match will leapfrog the other in the points table. In the previous clash between both the sides in the tournament, LSG crushed MI by 12 runs at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium.
