IPL 2025: List of former IPL cricketers who will commentate this season

The IPL 2025 will begin on March 22 with KKR taking on RCB in Kolkata’s Eden Gardens.
The league phase of the 18th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will begin on March 22 and the biggest cricket carnival is scheduled to end on May 25 with the title match.
There is a frenzy among game fans for analysts and presenters, especially for the audience, who watch the live broadcast on their television and on the go, while the fans wait to watch their favorite players play on the field.
JioHotstar, the official broadcast and digital rights holder for the tournament in India, and Star Sports Network have revealed a star-studded lineup for the coverage, which will include the newest voices in game analysis alongside well-known commentators who have called the game for decades.
Several former national and international cricket players have been selected to share their perspectives on the IPL 2025. Many of them have participated in the tournament and played for different teams in the IPL.
Here is a glance at the former IPL cricketers who will be covering this season:
There are multiple stars who have played in the IPL who will provide their voices in the commentary box. Some of the players have been huge stars of the IPL, who were big part of their teams during their playing days.
Stars like Suresh Raina, who was fondly called ‘Mr. IPL,’ will commentate in the tournament this season. He scored more than 350 runs in a season 12 times in his IPL career. He scored more than 400 runs in an IPL season a record seven times and won the IPL in 2010, 2011 and 2018 for the Chennai Super Kings.
AB de Villiers was the face of the RCB franchise along with Virat Kohli at the time and scored 5162 runs in 184 games at an average of 39.71 and strike rate of 151.69. Matthew Hayden set the tone for how the IPL should be played with his aggressive batting for CSK in the formative years of the league.
Shane Watson was the Player of the Tournament in IPL 2008 when he helped RR win the title. He returned with CSK and won the IPL in 2018, scoring a century in the final. One of the brightest stars of the SRH franchise, Kane Williamson led the team to the finals in IPL 2018 in the absence of David Warner.
Harbhajan Singh, Virender Sehwag, Shikhar Dhawan, RP Singh, Anil Kumble, Robin Uthappa and many more have been part of successful IPL teams and some managed to win the trophy multiple times.
