IPL 2025 mega auction: List of all players bought by CSK on day 1
CSK entered the IPL 2025 mega auction with a purse of INR 55 crores.
The much anticipated Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction started on November 24 in Jeddah Saudi Arabia. The event saw all 10 franchises bidding to fill the 204 available slots in the squads.
Five-time IPL winners, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), entered the auction with a purse of INR 55 crores. Having retained players like – Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, Matheesha Pathirana and MS Dhoni (retained as uncapped player), CSK enjoy one of the stable core in the tournament.
Adding a new dynamic to the auction, The Right-to-Match (RTM) card was reintroduced this year after it was last used during the mega auction in 2018.
CSK made bold moves on the opening day bringing back the Kiwi batting duo of Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra. The biggest buy of the night for the “Yellow Army” came in the form of Afghanistan’s Noor Ahmad, whom they bought for INR 10 crores and Ravichandran Ashwin, who last represented CSK in 2015.
Ashwin’s addition will reunite him with Ravindra Jadeja, forming one of the best spin duos of the tournament. CSK have also added depth to their middle order by adding Indian middle-order batsman Rahul Tripathi to the squad.
