IPL 2025 mega auction: DC use RTM card to buy Jake Fraser-McGurk for 9 crores
Jake Fraser-McGurk scored 330 runs in IPL 2024 for Delhi Capitals.
Jake Fraser-McGurk is one of the most explosive batsmen in the world. He showed the first major glimpse of his batting prowess when he smashed a 29-ball century against Tasmania in a Marsh Cup game to register the fastest List-A century off 29 balls, breaking AB de Villiers’ record of 31 balls.
Since then, the youngster has kept on rising. He slammed three fifties in his first full BBL season with the Melbourne Renegades while batting at No. 3 and then whacked 54 off 25 balls on his debut in the ILT20 for Dubai Capitals.
After his terrific success in his debut Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season this year, Fraser-McGurk got to play in both white-ball formats for Australia. In his second ODI, against West Indies, the youngster thumped 41 off 18 balls.
Fraser-McGurk has so far played five ODIs and seven T20Is for Australia and has stroked a couple of blistering innings. Australia would be hoping a bit more consistency and game awareness in the 22-year-old who is touted for greater things in the future.
Jake Fraser-McGurk sold to Delhi Capitals for INR 9 crore
The Delhi Capitals used RTM card on Jake Fraser-McGurk and roped him back for INR 9 crore.
LSG and PBKS bid for Fraser-McGurk intially and PBKS won the last bid at INR 5.5 crore. Then, DC exercised the RTM card, following which PBKS raised the bid to 9 crore. DC matched PBKS’ bid and attained Fraser-McGurk for 9 crore.
Jake Fraser-McGurk previously in IPL
Jake Fraser-McGurk made his IPL debut for Delhi Capitals (DC) in IPL 2024 and took the tournament by storm.
Roped in as a replacement player, Fraser-McGurk smashed 330 runs at a strike rate of 234 with four half-centuries in nine innings. Out of the 141 balls he faced in the tournament, he hit 28 sixes and 32 fours.
Fraser-McGurk’s ultra-aggressive intent right from the first ball of the innings has caught everyone’s attention and his success last season kept him in good stead ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction.
