IPL 2025 mega auction: Gujarat Titans rope in Prasidh Krishna for 9.5 crores
Prasidh Krishna Iyer was released by Rajasthan Royals ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction.
Fast bowler Prasidh Krishna is rated as one of the most exciting fast bowlers in the Indian circuit. Krishna joined Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) season 2022. Krishna made his international debut in an ODI against England in 2021.
Standing tall at 6 feet 3 inches, Krishna possesses the unique ability to generate extra bounce from a good length. Known for his seam and swing with the new ball, he has also worked on his bowling in death overs.
Gujarat Titans buys Prasidh Krishna for INR 9.5 crore
Gujarat Titans (GT) secured the services of Prasidh Krishna signing him for INR 9.5 crores on the first day of the IPL 2025 mega auction. GT and RR engaged in a head-on battle for the star Indian pacer.
Prasidh, known for extracting extra bounce will be highly useful in Narendra Modi Stadium. His move to Gujarat will partner him with South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada.
Prasidh Krishna previously in the IPL
Prasidh Krishna began his IPL journey with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in 2018, replacing injured fast bowler Kamlesh Nagarkoti in the squad. He made his debut on May 6, 2018, against Mumbai Indians, replacing Shivam Mavi in the playing XI.
So far in his IPL career, Krishna has impressed with 49 wickets in 51 games. His best performance came against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2018 season, where he recorded impressive figures of 4/30.
He was among one of the most expensive players in the IPL 2022 auction, earning an INR 10 crore contract with Rajasthan Royals.
Krishna started his IPL career with a salary of INR 20 lakhs with KKR. He was part of RR from IPL 2022 to 2024 with a salary of INR 10 crores.
