IPL 2025 mega auction: Kane Williamson attract no bids, remains unsold

Arguably New Zealand’s finest batsman since the legendary Martin Crowe, Kane Williamson had been a wonder kid since his teenage days. Known for his sweet timing, Williamson is counted among some of the all-time greatest batsmen.
Kane made his international debut in 2010 in an ODI game against India in Dambulla. He was named Player of the tournament in ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, for scoring 578 runs in the tournament. Williamson has scored 6442 runs in 254 T20 games with a strike rate of 123.

New Zealand batsman Kane Williamson remained unsold at the IPL 2025 mega auction. Williamson’s name came in the auction on the second day, however, he did not find any buyers.
Kane can still get the opportunity to participate in the next season of the IPL if any team calls him as an injury replacement during the season.

Williamson made his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut in 2015 with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). He made history in the 2018 season, becoming the first New Zealand cricketer to win the prestigious Orange Cap scoring 735 runs in the season.
Williamson’s 2018 tally remains the fifth highest in IPL history and third most by a captain, only behind Virat Kohli (2016) and David Warner (2016). SRH also reached the final of the tournament that year, falling short to Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
Williamson joined Gujarat Titans (GT) for a salary of INR 2 crores. He has scored 2128 runs in 79 games in his IPL career.
