David Miller scored 210 runs for Gujarat Titans in IPL 2024.

South Africa’s middle-order batsman David Miller has established himself as one of the most trusted finishers in the shortest format of the game. He made his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut in 2012 with Punjab Kings (PBKS).

Miller has scored over 10,000 runs in T20 career. Additionally, his acrobatic fielding adds further value to his resume in the shortest format of the game.

LSG buy David Miller for INR 7.5 crore

The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) attained the services of David Miller for INR 7.5 crore in the mega auction.

Gujarat Titans, Miller’s franchise last season, started the bidding process on the South African and they faced competition from RCB. The two fought until 5.25 crore when GT pulled out and DC joined in. DC opted out at 7.25 crore and RCB almost had Miller but LSG jumped in with a bid of 7.5 crore and RCB didn’t make any further bid.

David Miller previously in the IPL

Miller made his IPL debut in 2012 after being roped in as a replacement player by the PBKS franchise in 2011. Miller’s most remarkable innings of his IPL career came in 2013 when he smashed 101* off 38 balls against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

Miller was appointed PBKS captain in 2016 but was replaced midway after a tough start to the season. Miller was moved to Rajasthan Royals (RR) in 2020 before being bought by Gujarat Titans in 2022.

He played a key role in the Titans’ title-winning campaign in 2022, scoring 481 runs in 16 games with a batting average of 68.7. Miller has scored 2924 runs in his IPL career at a blistering strike rate of 140.

Miller’s IPL salary has varied throughout his career. He was with PBKS from 2011 to 2013 at INR 40 lakh. From 2014 to 2017, he earned INR 12.5 crore per season. He was bought back by PBKS for INR 3 crore in 2019. He moved to RR for INR 75 lakh, and joined GT in 2022 at INR 3 crore per season.
