Vaibhav Suryavanshi made his First Class cricket debut for Bihar in 2024.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi, a 13-year-old cricketer from Bihar, has landed a contract worth INR 1.1 crores with the Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the IPL 2025 mega auction.

After acquiring overseas stars Jofra Archer, Maheesh Theekshana and Wanindu Hasaranga, the Rajasthan Royals went after plenty of Indian talents.

While they bought a few IPL experienced players in Nitish Rana, Tushar Deshpande, and Fazalhaq Farooqi, the Royals also bought the inexperienced Vaibhav Suryavanshi.

The IPL 2025 season will be the first experience for Suryavanshi in the IPL as he was roped in by the inaugural champions, making him the youngest participant in the IPL history and also making him a crorepati at the age of just 13.

Delhi Capitals raised the first bid for Suryavanshi at his base price of INR 30 lakhs. Then RR got in and both tussled till RR secured the youngster.

What is Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s record in domestic cricket?

Aged only 13, left-handed opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi made his First Class (FC) cricket and T20 debut for Bihar in 2024. In five FC games, he’s scored 100 runs at an average of only 10.00 with a highest score of 41.

In one T20 match in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Suryavanshi scored 13 runs in six balls with the help of two sixes while opening the batting.

He can also bowl part-time spin bowling.

Suryavanshi is the youngest Indian FC cricket debutant since 1986. Before making his Ranji debut, he made 93 runs in five innings at the Vinoo Mankad Trophy. He missed out on selection for the Under-19 World Cup in South Africa earlier this year.

Suryavanshi also featured in two youth tests for India U19 against Australia U19 earlier this year, when he smoked a 58-ball hundred. He also hit a triple-century in the Randhir Verma Under-19 50-over tournament in Bihar.
