KKR crushed DC by 14 runs in the 48th match of IPL 2025.

Delhi Capitals (DC) hosted Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in match No. 48 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The encounter took place at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Tuesday, April 29.

The hosts had a tricky chase of 205 runs in the match. DC opener Faf du Plessis fired a fifty at the start. Vipraj Nigam (38 off 18) tried his best efforts towards the end, however, KKR eventually won the match by 14 runs. Earlier, DC skipper Axar Patel won the toss and chose to bowl first.

KKR’s top-order batters failed to hit a fifty. However, Rahmanullah Gurbaz (26), Sunil Narine (27), Ajinkya Rahane (26), and Angkrish Raghuvanshi (44) showed good teamwork in batting. Later, lower middle-order batter Rinku Singh slammed a wonderful 36 runs for the side. KKR piled up 204/9 in 20 overs to reach a defendable total.

In the bowling, Mitchell Starc captured the most three wickets for the Capitals in the encounter. Patel (2) and Vipraj Nigam (2) stole two wickets each. Dushmantha Chameera grabbed one scalp in his kitty. Notably, the hosts captured a wonderful team hat-trick in the 20th over to dismantle KKR’s lower order.

After match 48 of IPL 2025, DC have the fourth spot in the updated points table. They have 12 points and a Net Run Rate (NNR) of +0.362. On the other hand, KKR takes the seventh position. They have nine points and an NRR of +0.271.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Mumbai Indians (MI) are at first and second spots with 14 and 12 points respectively. Gujarat Titans (GT) take the third spot with 12 points. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) languish at the bottom of the table with four points.

IPL 2025: Most runs (Orange Cap)

Notably, there are no DC or KKR batters in the Orange Cap leaderboard after the DC vs KKR clash. The top five highest run-scorers in IPL 2025 remain the same. GT’s Sai Sudharsan bags the top spot and owns the orange cap. RCB opener Virat Kohli closely follows him in the second spot.

MI stalwart Suryakumar Yadav and RR opener Yashasvi Jaiswal grab the third and fourth spots, respectively. GT batsman Jos Butter holds the fifth position. All these batters have more than 400 runs in their kitty.

IPL 2025: Most wickets (Purple Cap)

DC pacer Mitchell Starc, who captured three wickets in the encounter, now grabs the fourth spot in the Purple Cap leaderboard. His Aussie teammate Josh Hazlewood, who represented RCB in IPL 2025, is the leading wicket-taker in IPL 2025. Prasidh Krishna follows him with 17 scalps.

CSK spinner Noor Ahmed is next on the list in the fourth place. MI pacer Trent Boult steals the fifth position. There are no KKR bowlers in the top five highest wicket-takers list in IPL 2025. However, Vaibhav Arora has 12 wickets in his kitty, one less than the fifth-ranked Boult.
