IPL 2025: Points table, most runs, most wickets after match 53, KKR vs RR

KKR defeated RR by one run in match No. 53 of IPL 2025.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) hosted Rajasthan Royals (RR) in match No. 53 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Sunday, May 4. The encounter took place at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The visitors RR had a tricky chase of 207 runs. Riyan Parag slammed a stunning knock of 95 runs for RR. However, KKR won the thrilling clash by just one run as RR finished at 205/8 in the end.
Earlier, KKR skipper Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and opted to bat first. The home team’s openers Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Sunil Narine failed to fire with the bat. However, Angrish Raghuvanshi (44) and Ajinkya Rahane (30) added crucial runs on the scoreboard in the middle overs.
Towards the end, Andre Russell stormed a wonderful half-century (57* off 25) to drive the team’s total of 206/4 in 20 overs. Jofra Archer, Yudhvir Singh, Maheesh Theekshana, and Riyan Parag clinched one wicket each for the side.
IPL 2025: Updated points table

After match No. 53 of IPL 2025, KKR take the sixth position in the updated points table. They have nine points and Net Run Rate (NRR) of +0.271. On the other hand, RR take the eighth spot after the defeat in the clash. They have six points and NRR of -0.780. RR are already eliminated from the race to playoffs.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) continue to rule the points table at the top spot with 16 points. Mumbai Indians (MI) and Gujarat Titans (GT) are next at the second and third spots respectively with 14 points each. Punjab Kings (PBKS) grab the fourth place with 13 points in their kitty. Chennai Super Kings (CSK), who are also eliminated from the playoffs, languish at bottom of the table with four points.

There is only one change in the list of top five highest run-getters after the 53rd match of IPL 2025. RR opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, who hit 34 runs in the game, has jumped to the fourth spot with 473 runs.
Virat Kohli (505) and Sai Sudharsan (504) take the top two spots. Suryakumar Yadav (475) and Jos Buttler (470) follow them in the third and fifth positions respectively.

IPL 2025: Most wickets (Purple Cap)
KKR spinner Varun Chakravarthy has jumped to the fifth spot after picking two wickets in the KKR vs RR match. He now has 15 scalps to his name.
Prasidh Krishna takes the peak position in the Purple Cap leaderboard with 19 wickets, followed by Josh Hazlewood in second place with 18 wickets. Noor Ahmad and Trent Boult grab the third and fourth spots respectively. Both of them have 16 wickets.
