PBKS defeated LSG by 37 runs in match No. 54 of IPL 2025.

Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) locked horns in match No. 54 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Sunday, May 4. The venue of the clash was Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala. LSG had a mammoth target of 237 runs to chase the clash. PBKS won the match by 37 runs by restricting LSG to 199/7 in the second innings.

PBKS pacers Arshdeep Singh, Azmatullah Omarzai, and Marco Jansen showed wonderful teamwork to outplay LSG batters from chasing the target. Earlier, LSG skipper Rishabh Pant won the toss and chose to bowl first. PBKS lost opener Priyansh Arya cheaply for one run. However, Prabhsimran Singh played an impressive knock, scoring 91 runs.

Later, Josh Inglis and Shreyas Iyer also added 30 runs and 45 runs respectively. Shashank Singh smacked quick 33 runs off 15 balls towards the end. PBKS finished with a gigantic 236/5 on the scoreboard. Akash Singh and Digvesh Rathi clinched two wickets each for the Super Giants.

After the 54th match of IPL 2025, PBKS have jumped to the second position in updated points table. They have 15 points and Net Run Rate (NRR) of +0.376. On the other hand, LSG take the seventh place in the latest team standings after a defeat in the match. They have 10 points and NRR of -0.469.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) enjoy the top spot in the points table with 16 points. Mumbai Indians (MI) and Gujarat Titans (GT) take the third and fourth places respectively with 14 points each. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) languish at bottom of the table with four points and are already out of the playoffs race.

There are no changes in the list of top five highest run-scorers in the season following the PBKS vs LSG clash.

Virat Kohli (505) and Sai Sudharsan (504) continue to steal the top two spots in the list. Suryakumar Yadav (475) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (473) are next in the third and fourth places respectively. Jos Buttler grabs the fifth position with 470 runs.

Prasidh Krishna with 19 wickets and Josh Hazlewood with 18 scalps take the first and second spots respectively in the Purple Cap leaderboard. CSK spinner Noor Ahmad lies in the third place with 16 wickets. MI pacer Trent Boult captures the fifth spot with an equal number of wickets.
