IPL 2025: Points table, most runs, most wickets after match 17, CSK vs DC

DC defeated CSK by 25 runs in match 17 of IPL 2025.

Delhi Capitals (DC) dismantled Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 25 runs in match 17 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The men in yellow failed to chase down the 184-run target in the match, managing only 158/5 in their quota of 20 overs.

During the chase, CSK lost openers Rachin Ravindra (3) and Devon Conway (13) cheaply. Skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad also failed to go big this time, losing his wicket for just five runs. DC pacer Mukesh Kumar gave the first breakthrough to DC by dismissing Ravindra cheaply in the second over. Vijay Shankar and MS Dhoni did some damage control in the end with 69 and 30 runs respectively, but, they could not take their side over the finishing line.

Earlier, DC won the toss and opted to bat first in the match. Opener Jake Fraser-McGurk got out for a five-ball duck. However, his opening partner KL Rahul slammed a stunning half-century (77 off 51) to drive DC to a powerful total of 183/6.

Abishek Porel (33) and Tristan Stubbs (24*) also made notable contributions to the scoreboard. For CSK, left-armer Khaleel Ahmed was the most successful bowler with two wickets, followed by Ravindra Jadeja, Noor Ahmed, and Matheesha Pathirana with one wicket each.

IPL 2025: Updated points table

After the 17th match of IPL 2025, CSK have dropped to the eighth position in the points table with two points and Net Run Rate (NRR) of -0.891. Ruturaj Gaikwad & Co. have won one game out of four.

Meanwhile, DC have moved to the top spot in latest standings with six points and NRR of +1.257. The Axar Patel-led side has won all three games in the season so far.

IPL 2025: Most runs (Orange Cap)

Interestingly, there is no change in IPL 2025 Orange Cap leaderboard following the CSK vs DC clash. Nicholas Pooran continues to lead the list with 201 runs. Sai Sudharsan follows him next with 186 runs. Mitchell Marsh, Suryakumar Yadav, and Jos Butter are the other three batters in the list of top five highest run-scorers of the season.

IPL 2025: Most wickets (Purple Cap)

CSK’s Noor Ahmad picked one wicket in the match against DC to reach a total of 10 wickets in IPL 2025. He still has the most wickets in IPL 2025 and owns the Purple Cap. Another CSK bowler Khaleel Ahmed, who picked two wickets in the match, has entered the list of top five highest wicket-takers of the season with eight wickets. He is currently slotted at fourth position.

DC’s Mitchell Starc, who picked one wicket in the clash, has nine wickets to his name and is positioned second in the tally. Below is the updated list of players with the most wickets in IPL 2025. MI’s Hardik Pandya and LSG’s Shardul Thakur are other names part of the list.
