IPL 2025: Points table, most runs, most wickets after match 23, GT vs RR

GT defeated RR by 58 runs in the 23rd match of IPL 2025.

Gujarat Titans (GT) defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 58 runs in the 23rd match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Chasing a target of 218 runs in the match, RR lost crucial batters like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Nitish Rana, and Dhruv Jurel for single digits.

Sanju Samson (41), Riyan Parag (26), and Shimron Hetmyer (52) tried brilliant efforts with the bat, however, they could not secure a victory for the team. RR were eventually bowled out for 159 in the match.

GT showed wonderful teamwork in bowling, and all the bowlers picked at least one wicket. Prasidh Krishna picked the most – three wickets for the side, followed by Rashid Khan and Sai Kishore with two scalps each.

Earlier in the first innings, the Shubman Gill & Co. piled up a gigantic total of 217/6. Opener Sai Sudharsan (82) slammed a stunning half-century. Jos Buttler (36) and Shahrukh Khan (36) also made notable contributions with the bat.

Towards the end, Rahul Tewatia added quickfire 24* runs off 12 deliveries. For RR, Tushar Deshpande and Maheesh Theekshana picked two wickets each. Jofra Archer and Sandeep Sharma bagged one scalp each.

IPL 2025: Updated points table

After facing a defeat in the match No. 23 of IPL 2025, RR have dropped to seventh spot in the points table. They have four points and Net Run Rate (NRR) of -0.670. They have won two games and lost three matches out of five.

On the other hand, GT have moved to the top spot in the updated team standings. Out of five encounters, they have won four games and lost one match. GT have eight points in their kitty and NRR of +1.354.

Delhi Capitals (DC) take the second spot in the points table with six points. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) are next on the third and fourth spots respectively with six points each.

IPL 2025: Most runs (Orange Cap)

GT opener Sai Sudharsan, who slammed 82 runs in the match, has jumped to the second spot in the Orange Cap leaderboard with 273 runs. Jos Buttler hit 36 runs in the encounter and has now moved to the fourth spot in the list.

No RR batters are part of the list. Nicholas Pooran continues to top the list with the most 288 runs. Mitchell Marsh and Suryakumar Yadav are other names among the top five run-scorers in IPL 2025.

Interestingly, there are no RR bowlers among the top five highest wicket-takers in IPL 2025. GT pacer Mohammed Siraj, who picked one wicket in the match, now takes the third spot with 10 wickets. Sai Kishore got two wickets in the match and has jumped to the second spot.
