LSG defeated GT by six wickets in 26th match of IPL 2025.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) defeated Gujarat Titans (GT) by six wickets in the match No. 26 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Opener Aiden Markram (58 off 31) and Nicholas Pooran (61 off 34) powered the home side LSG to a wonderful victory with their brilliant batting.

Earlier in the game, LSG skipper Rishabh Pant won the toss and elected to bowl. The visitors piled up a decent total of 180/6 in the first innings. Openers Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill smacked spectacular half-centuries.

Towards the end, Sherfane Rutherford (22 runs) and Shahrukh Khan (11) added crucial runs. For the Super Giants, pacer Shardul Thakur and spinner Ravi Bishnoi picked two wickets each. Digvesh Rathi and Avesh Khan grabbed one scalp each.

After the defeat against LSG in the match No. 26 of IPL 2025, GT have dropped to the second spot in the updated points table. They have eight points and Net Run Rate (NRR) of +1.081. On the other hand, the Super Giants have jumped to the third position with eight points and NNR of +0.162.

GT have now won four games and lost two matches out of six clashes. LSG have also won four matches and lost two games out of six encounters. Delhi Capitals (DC) grab the top spot in the latest team standings. They have eight points. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) occupy the fourth and fifth spots respectively with six points each.

IPL 2025: Most runs (Orange Cap)

Interestingly, all the top five highest run-scorers in IPL 2025 are from either GT or LSG. GT skipper Gill, who hit 60 runs in the match, has clinched the fifth spot in the Orange Cap leaderboard. Jos Buttler got out for 16 runs and now takes the fourth spot in the list of top five highest run-scorers.

Interestingly, GT opener Sudharsan (56) slammed a half-century in the first innings and moved to the top spot replacing Nicholas Pooran. However, Pooran regained his peak position with a half-century in the second innings. Notably, LSG opener Markram has now moved to the seventh spot with 202 runs after his fifty in the LSG vs GT clash.

GT pacer Prasidh Krishna picked two wickets in the match and has entered the list of top five highest wicket-takers this season. The right-arm seamer now takes the third spot. Sai Kishore and Mohammed Siraj are other GT bowlers in the list of top five highest wicket-takers in IPL 2025.

LSG pacer Shardul Thakur picked two scalps in the clash and has jumped to the second spot in the Purple Cap leaderboard. CSK spinner Noor Ahmad continues to top the list with 12 wickets.
