IPL 2025: Points table, most runs, most wickets after match 28, RR vs RCB

RCB defeated RR by nine wickets in match 28 of IPL 2025.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) crushed Rajasthan Royals (RR) by nine wickets in the 28th match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Chasing a 174-run target for victory, RCB openers Virat Kohli (62) and Phil Salt (65) produced marvellous batting show to power RCB to their fourth win of the season. Batting at No. 3, Devdutt Padikkal also added crucial 40* runs. RR bowlers completely failed to dismantle RCB openers at the start, as they registered a 92-run stand for the opening wicket.

Earlier, RCB skipper Rajat Patidar won the toss and opted to bowl first. RR posted 173/4 on the scoreboard in the first innings with Yashasvi Jaiswal’s half-century (75 off 47). Riyan Parag and Dhruv Jurel added 30 and 35 runs respectively. For RCB, pacers Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Yash Dayal, and Josh Hazlewood picked one wicket each. Spinner Krunal Pandya captured one scalp.

IPL 2025: Updated points table

After the defeat against RCB in the match, RR have dropped to seventh spot in IPL 2025 points table. They have four points and Net Run Rate (NRR) of -0.838. On the other hand, RCB have jumped to third position in the latest standings after the victory against RR. They have eight points and NRR of +0.672.

Delhi Capitals (DC) and Gujarat Titans (GT) are placed in the first and second positions respectively in IPL 2025 points table. Both of them have eight points. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) grab the fourth spot with the same number of points.

Interestingly, there are no RR batters in the list of top five highest run-scorers after 28th match of IPL 2025. RCB opener Virat Kohli, who slammed 62 runs in the match, has moved to the fifth spot. He replaced Jos Buttler from the position. LSG batter Nicholas Pooran is the leading run-scorer in IPL 2025 as of now, followed by GT opener Sai Sudharsan.

2. Sai Sudharsan (GT) – 329 runs

3. Mitchell Marsh (LSG) – 265 runs

IPL 2025: Most wickets (Purple Cap)

There are no RR or RCB bowlers in the list of top five wicket-takers in IPL 2025 as of now. RCB pacer Josh Hazlewood picked one wicket in the match and takes the eighth spot in the list of highest wicket-takers in the tournament.

CSK spinner Noor Ahmed continues to rule the list with 12 wickets. Shardul Thakur follows him in the second spot. The next three spots are taken by GT bowlers – Prasidh Krishna, Sai Kishore, and Mohammed Siraj.
