IPL 2025: Points table, most runs, most wickets after match 31, PBKS vs KKR

PBKS outplayed KKR by 16 runs in match 31 of IPL 2025.

Punjab Kings (PBKS) crushed Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 16 runs in a low-scoring thriller in 31st match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The home team successfully defended their 111-run total in the second innings, bowling out KKR for just 95 in the match. Yuzvendra Chahal picked a fabulous four-wicket haul while Marco Jansen grabbed three wickets for the Kings.

Earlier in the first innings, PBKS faced a big batting collapse and were bowled out for 111. PBKS skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to bat first. Openers Priyansh Arya (22) and Prabhsimran Singh (30) started well but could not bat deep.

Later, Shreyas Iyer, Josh Inglis, Nehal Wadhera, and Glenn Maxwell lost their wickets cheaply as PKBS’ batting fell like a house of cards. For KKR, pacer Harshit Rana clinched three wickets while spinners Varun Chakaravarthy and Sunil Narine got two wickets.

IPL 2025: Updated points table

After the defeat against PBKS in the match, KKR have dropped down to sixth spot in the updated IPL 2025 points table. They have six points and Net Run Rate of +0.547. On the other hand, PBKS have moved to the fourth position after their win in the 31st match of IPL 2025. They have eight points and NRR of +0.172.

Gujarat Titans (GT) and Delhi Capitals (DC) take the first and second positions respectively with eight points each. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are placed in the third spot with an equal number of points. CSK continue to stay at the bottom of the points table with two points.

IPL 2025: Most runs (Orange Cap)

PBKS skipper Shreyas Iyer has retained his fourth spot in the Orange Cap Leadership despite getting out for a duck in the match. He takes the third spot on the list. There are no KKR batters among the top five highest run-scorers in IPL 2025. Their highest run-scorer of the season, Ajinkya Rahane is placed seventh. Nicholas Pooran leads the list with 357 runs. Sai Sudharsan, Mitchell Marsh, and Virat Kohli are other batters in the list of top five run-scorers this season.

With two wickets in the match, KKR spinner Varun Chakravarthy has replaced Prasidh Krishna at fifth spot in the Purple Cap Leaderboard. He accounts for a total of 10 wickets in IPL 2025 and closely follows DC spinner Kuldeep Yadav. Interestingly, no PBKS bowlers are among the top five highest wicket-takers in IPL 2025. CSK bowlers Noor Ahmed and Khaleel Ahmed take the top two spots.
