IPL 2025: Points table, most runs, most wickets after match 7, SRH vs LSG

LSG defeated SRH by five wickets in the seventh match of IPL 2025.

On Thursday, March 27, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by five wickets in the seventh match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.

After losing the toss and being invited to bat first, SRH had a shaky start, losing two wickets for just 15 runs. However, Travis Head (47) and Nitish Reddy (32) played crucial knocks to stabilize the innings and lay a solid foundation for the hosts.

Aniket Verma (36) and Pat Cummins (18) provided late acceleration, helping SRH reach a competitive total of 190/9. Shardul Thakur was the pick of the bowlers for Lucknow, finishing with impressive figures of 4/34 in his four-over spell.

In reply, LSG dominated the run chase, with Caribbean superstar Nicholas Pooran leading the charge with a blistering 70 off 26 balls. Mitchell Marsh played the anchor role, scoring a steady 52 off 31 balls.

LSG’s middle-order batters ensured the team chased down the target with 23 balls to spare, giving their NRR a significant boost.

Thanks to a comfortable win, LSG now have two points from two matches and are placed second in the table. SRH, on the other hand, also have two points in as many games and are placed sixth in the points table.

RCB sit at the top of the table and will face fourth-placed CSK tomorrow in Chennai. PBKS and DC occupy the third and fifth spots, while KKR, MI, GT, and RR round out the bottom four.

LSG duo Nicholas Pooran and Mitchell Marsh occupy the top two spots in the list of highest run-scorers in the ongoing IPL 2025 with 145 and 124 runs respectively.

Travis Head’s 47-run knock has moved him to the third spot with 114 runs. Young Indian wicket-keepers Ishan Kishan and Dhruv Jurel complete the list of top five with 106 and 103 runs respectively.

Thanks to his four-wicket haul against SRH, LSG pacer Shardul Thakur now leads the wicket-takers’ chart with six wickets in the tournament. Noor Ahmad sits second with four wickets, while Khaleel Ahmed, Vaibhav Arora, and Tushar Deshpande round out the top five with three wickets each.
