IPL 2025: RCB make a huge blunder as they name Rajat Patidar, drop Suyash Sharma after electing to bowl first against LSG

Rajat Patidar is the impact player for RCB in the match against LSG.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are locking horns with each other on Tuesday, May 27. The 70th match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 takes place at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
Notably, RCB skipper Rajat Patidar has been picked as an impact player in the RCB vs LSG clash. He has not yet fully recovered from his finger injury. Hence, stand-in skipper Jitesh Sharma is leading the side. Rishabh Pant is the captain of LSG in the match.
RCB skipper Sharma won the toss and opted to bowl first in the match. He also revealed that skipper Patidar has been picked as an impact player in the match. However, RCB made a big goof-up in their team sheet for impact players.
RCB mistakenly add Rajat Patidar instead of Suyash Sharma in the playing XI
Notably, since RCB opted to bowl first in the encounter and Patidar is an impact player, he should not be part of the playing XI. However, in their sheet for bowling first, RCB mistakenly added Patidar in the playing XI.
Also, they omitted Suyash Sharma’s name from the playing XI and kept him as one of the impact players. However, they were allowed to make changes to their sheet later. Have a look at the posts below.
RCB skipper Patidar also missed the previous game and only played as an impact player. He has slammed 257 runs in 11 innings at a strike rate of 138.17 in IPL 2025. He has also scored two half-centuries. On the other hand, spinner Sharma has played 12 games in the tournament. He has clinched five wickets at an economy of 8.73.
Meanwhile, the Royal Challengers have a crucial clash against LSG. They need a victory to confirm a top-two finish in the points table. They currently hold the third spot in the points table with 17 points. By defeating LSG in the match, they will leapfrog Gujarat Titans (GT) in the points table and play in the Qualifier 1 match. GT grabbed the second spot in the points table with 18 points.
