IPL 2026: All players bought by DC in auction

Delhi Capitals bought 8 players in the IPL 2026 auction.

Delhi Capitals (DC) entered the Indian Premier League (IPL 2026) auction to strengthen their team ahead of the new season. Delhi came to the table with a total of INR 21.8 crore.

Delhi bought Jammu and Kashmir star pacer Auqib Nabi Dar for INR 8.4 Crores. The 29-year-old has been in terrific form with the ball in the ongoing domestic season. The right-arm pacer had picked 15 wickets in the 2025 Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy with an economy rate of 7.4 runs per over.

Delhi started the auction well by signing David Miller for INR 2 Crores in the very first round. Lucknow Super Giants released South Africa’s veteran batter ahead of the auction. The left-handed batter has played 141 matches in the IPL, scoring over 3000 runs with one century and 13 fifties.

Axar Patel-led Delhi Capitals finished fifth in the table last season with 15 points from 14 games and missed out on a spot in the playoffs. Delhi had begun the season well with four successive wins before losing their way in the middle of the season.

English opening batter Ben Duckett was yet another smart pick by Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2026 auction. The 31-year-old has been one of the best batters for his side, opening the batting across all formats of the game. Delhi picked Duckett for his base price of INR 2 crores in the auctions.

So far, Duckett has played 20 T20I matches for England, scoring 527 runs with an average of 29 and a strike-rate of 153.

DC bought Sri Lankan star batter Pathum Nissanka for INR 4 Crores for the coming season. Kolkata Knight Riders fiercely contested for the Lankan batter, but Capitals came away with the winning bid.

Nissanka has played 79 T20 matches for Sri Lanka, scoring 2345 runs with one century and 18 fifties. The right-handed batter has an average of 31 and strikes the ball at 126 and will be vying for a spot at the top of the order with KL Rahul and Ben Duckett.

Having acquired most of the players in the early part of the IPL 2026 auctions, DC were largely silent during the rest of the process.

Delhi finally seized their chance when they bid INR 2 crore for Lungi Ngidi in the final stretch of the evening. The Capitals’ side also got young Indian star Sahil Parakh for INR 30 Lakhs at the fag end of the auction.

Former India Under-19 skipper Prithvi Shaw made his return to DC for INR 75 lakhs in what was the final round of the auction.

The 26-year-old shifted from Mumbai to Maharashtra for the domestic season and led the side in the Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament. The young batter has played 79 games for DC, scoring 1892 runs with 14 fifties and a strike rate of 147.

Delhi Capitals were not done as they requested New Zealand seamer Kyle Jamieson to be brought back into the auctions. Jamieson was the last man out of the draw and was promptly picked by DC for his base price of INR 2 crore.
