IPL 2026 Auction: BCCI makes surprising change in player list; adds 19 new players

13 Indian and 6 foreign new stars have been added to the player list for the IPL 2026 auction.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has made some last-minute changes to the list of players set to appear in the IPL 2026 mini-auction.

Before this update, a total of 350 players had been shortlisted to go under the hammer on December 16 in Abu Dhabi, including 240 Indian players and 110 overseas players. The BCCI has now added 19 more players to this list, including 13 Indian players and six overseas players, which gives teams more options.

With several franchises looking to strengthen specific departments, the inclusion of these players could play a crucial role in shaping auction strategies.

This takes the total number of players in the auction to 369, with teams still needing to fill 77 available slots. On that note, let’s take a look at the domestic and overseas players who have been added to the list for the IPL 2026 mini-auction.

13 new Indian players added to the list of players appearing in the mini-auction

As part of the last-minute additions to the IPL 2026 mini-auction, 13 Indian players have been cut. The most prominent names among them include Swastik Chikara, who represented Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in IPL 2025, and Bengal captain Abhimanyu Easwaran, who has been in good form in the recent domestic season.

The domestic contingent, which has been added, includes –

  • Virat Singh of Jharkhand (₹30 lakh)
  • Abhimanyu Easwaran of Bengal (₹30 lakh)
  • Sooraj Sangaraju of Andhra (₹30 lakh)
  • Tanmay Agarwal of Hyderabad (₹30 lakh)
  • Rahul Raj Namala from Chhattisgarh (₹30 lakh)
  • Swastik Samal of Odisha (₹30 lakh)
  • K.L. Shrijith of Karnataka (₹30 lakh)
  • Saransh Jain from Madhya Pradesh (₹30 lakh)
  • Manisankar Murasingh of Tripura (₹30 lakh)
  • Chama Milind from Hyderabad (₹30 lakh)
  • Rajesh Mohanty of Odisha (₹30 lakh)
  • Tripuresh Singh from Madhya Pradesh (₹30 lakh)
  • Swastik Chikara of Uttar Pradesh (₹30 lakh)

6 new overseas players added to the player list

Six overseas players have been added as late entrants to the mini-auction. The list includes the following names:

  • Kyle Verreynne of South Africa (₹1.25 crs)
  • Ethan Bosch of South Africa (₹75 lakh)
  • Chris Green of Australia (₹75 lakh)
  • Blessing Muzarabani of Zimbabwe (₹75 lakh)
  • Ben Sears of New Zealand (₹1.50 crs)
  • Virandeep Singh of Malaysia (₹30 lakh)
