IPL 2026 auction: List of all players released and retained by Lucknow Super Giants

Lucknow Super Giants have retained 17 players in their squad ahead of IPL 2026 auction.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have revealed their retained and released players on Saturday, November 15, ahead of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 auction. The franchise has retained 17 players in their squad and picked two players through trade deals.

They have also released seven players from their squad, including big names like Akash Deep, Ravi Bishnoi, and David Miller. Among retained players, Aiden Markran, Rishabh Pant, and Nicholas Pooran are a few prominent batters, while Avesh Khan, Mohsin Khan, and Mayank Yadav are some key bowlers.

Ahead of IPL 2026 auction, LSG have acquired pacer Mohammed Shami and all-rounder Arjun Tendulkar into their squad through trade deals. While Shami was traded from Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Arjun Tendulkar was traded from Mumbai Indians (MI). They also let go of Shardul Thakur in a trade deal to MI.

At the IPL 2025 mega auction, LSG bought Rishabh Pant for a massive price of Rs. 27 crores, making him the costliest player in the tournament’s history. Later, they appointed him as the captain of the side, however, Pant could not drive the team to the playoffs. The wicket-keeper batter struggled with his batting form, scoring just one century and fifty across 14 games.

LSG failed to outplay opposition teams at their home ground in Lucknow, winning just two games out of seven clashes. Out of 14 games in the league stage, they managed six victories and suffered defeat in eight encounters. The Rishabh Pant & Co. finished a seventh spot in the league stage with 12 points.

The Super Giants gave a dominating performance in their first two seasons 2022 and 2023 by reaching the playoffs. However, they failed to finish in the top four in the last two editions. In IPL 2026, they will aim to bounce back with a much better show and lift their first title of the tournament.
