IPL 2026 auction: List of all players released and retained by Punjab Kings

Punjab Kings have retained 21 players ahead of IPL 2026 auction.

Punjab Kings (PBKS), on Saturday, 15th November, announced their list of retained and released players ahead of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 mini auction. November 15 was the deadline set by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for all IPL teams to submit the names of retained players for the next season.

The last season’s runners-up have retained a total of 21 players in their squad, retaining a major part of their core group. They have only released four players. Glenn Maxwell, who struggled with his form last season, is the biggest name released by the franchise. Now, they have Rs. 11.50 left in their purse for IPL 2026 auction.

PBKS bought Shreyas Iyer for a whopping amount of Rs. 26.75 crore at IPL 2025 mega auction and named him as captain of the team last year. The move turned out to be a game-changer for the side, who finished as runners-up in IPL 2025. In the league stage, PBKS were the most successful team, finishing at the top spot with 19 points. They won nine matches and lost four clashes out of 14 encounters, including one no result.

In the playoffs, the Shreyas Iyer & Co. lost to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Qualifier 1, however, they made a brilliant comeback by crushing Mumbai Indians (MI) in Qualifier 2 to book a spot in the final. However, they eventually lost to RCB in the final in a thrilling clash, which saw the latter winning by a margin of just six runs. In IPL 2026, PBKS will leave no stones unturned to clinch their first-ever IPL trophy.
