IPL 2026 auction: List of all players released and retained by Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan Royals have retained 13 players in their squad ahead of IPL 2026 auction along with three additions through trade.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) have revealed their list of retained and released players ahead of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 auction. The IPL 2008 champions have retained 13 players and added three players to their squad through trades. They parted ways with seven players ahead of IPL 2026 auction, out of which, Sri Lankan spinner Wanindu Hasaranga is the most prominent name.

Ahead of IPL 2026, RR roped in Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran into their squad through a trade deal with Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Sanju Samson, who captained RR since IPL 2021, was traded to CSK as a part of the deal.

It will be interesting to know who will be handed the RR captaincy in the next season after letting go of Samson. RR have also brought in Donovan Ferreira from Delhi Capitals (DC) through a trade deal at a revised price of Rs. 1 crore.

RR gave a humiliating performance last season, where they failed to qualify for the playoffs. Winning just four games and losing 10 encounters out of 14, the Royals could only collect eight points in their kitty to finish at the ninth spot in the points table. Their captain Samson was ruled out of a few games due to injury, which came as a big blow for the side and Riyan Parag led the team in his absence.

With a new captain, RR will aim for a big comeback in IPL 2026 and win their second trophy in the tournament’s history. They won the inaugural edition of the tournament in IPL 2008 and finished as runners-up in the 2022 edition.
