IPL 2025: Who has replaced Adam Zampa in SRH squad for remainder of the tournament?

SRH spinner Adam Zampa has been ruled out of IPL 2025 due to an injury.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have faced a big blow in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 as their overseas spinner Adam Zampa has been ruled out of the tournament due to an injury. The Australian spinner played two games for the side in IPL 2025.

Zampa struggled to come up with a good show across his two appearances for SRH in the first two games of IPL 2025. The right-arm spinner picked one wicket for 48 runs against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Sunrisers’ first match. Later, he picked one wicket for 46 runs in their second match of the season against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).

Hence, Zampa was highly expensive with the ball across the two matches at his economy of 11.75. As a result, Pat Cummins & Co. dropped him from the playing XI in the following matches. Now, Zampa has been ruled out of the season and SRH has replaced him with an uncapped Indian player.

SRH pick Smaran Ravichandran as replacement for Adam Zampa

Uncapped Indian player Smaran Ravichandran has replaced Zampa in SRH’s squad in IPL 2025. Interestingly, the franchise has inducted a batsman for spinner Zampa. Ravichandran has joined the SRH squad for INR 30 lakhs.

Smaran is a left-handed batsman, who plays for Karnataka in Indian domestic circuit. So far, he has played seven First-Class (FC) games, 10 List-A matches and six T20 matches. The 21-year-old batsman impressed with his magnificent batting show in Ranji Trophy earlier this year.

Meanwhile, SRH have played six games in the season so far. The IPL 2016 champions have won two games and lost four. They are placed ninth in the points table with four points. The Pat Cummins-led side clinched an impressive win in their last game by chasing down a mountainous 246-run target against Punjab Kings (PBKS).

They will next clash with Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 33rd match of IPL 2025. The encounter will be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday, April 17.
