IPL 2025: Fans hail KL Rahul on X as he smacks ton during DC vs GT clash

KL Rahul scored fifth century of his IPL career.
Delhi Capitals (DC) opener KL Rahul slammed a century against Gujarat Titans (GT) on Sunday, May 18, in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The 60th match of IPL 2025, DC vs GT, is currently underway at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
The right-handed batsman opened the innings for DC in the match. He slammed unbeaten 112 runs off 65 deliveries in the match. He hammered 14 boundaries and four sixes during his innings. He powered the DC’s total to 199/3 in the first innings.
Rahul led from the front after losing his opening partner Faf du Plessis cheaply for five runs in the fourth over. Rahul slammed fifth century of his IPL career. GT bowlers completely failed to halt Rahul from scoring a marvellous knock. Arshad Khan, Prasidh Krishna, and R Sai Kishore picked one wicket each for the Titans. Earlier, GT captain Shubman Gill won the toss and opted to bowl first.
Fans hail KL Rahul on X after century
IPL fans hailed Rahul on social media after his impeccable century in the match. They flooded the micro-blogging platform with numerous tweets to heap praise on the DC batter.
Interestingly, Rahul also crossed the milestone of 8000 T20 runs during the DC vs GT clash. He became the fastest Indian batsman to reach the milestone in 224 innings and broke Virat Kohli’s record.
Meanwhile, Rahul is the leading run-getter for DC in IPL 2025. He has mustered 493 runs in 11 innings at an average of 61.63 and a stunning strike rate of 148.04.
Rahul has become the fifth player to score a century in IPL 2025. He joined the likes of Ishan Kishan, Priyansh Arya, Abhishek Sharma and Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Notably, no overseas player has hit a hundred in the ongoing IPL 2025. DC eye a victory against GT at home to strengthen their chances of reaching playoffs.
